- Ensuring that all guides are Wilderness First Responder Certified (WFR), are licensed by Kilimanjaro National Park, have significant experience climbing Kilimanjaro and speak English fluently.
- Carrying all necessary safety and precautionary equipment including pulse oximeters, emergency oxygen and first aid kits.
- Organizing emergency evacuations if necessary.
- All trekkers will have insurance to cover the payment of this if problem arise.
Providing clean, purified water to trekkers throughout the trek.
Porter Welfare
Masai Land Wilderness Explorer commits to:
- Limiting porter loads to 20 kg per porter.
- Paying porters a fair salary.
- Ensuring porters have enough food for the duration of the trip.
- Ensuring that porters have suitable shelter for the duration of the trip.
- Providing porters with adequate clothing for the harsh mountain climate.
- Treating porters with the respect they deserve.

Our Safari Vehicles
Masai Land Wilderness Explorer offers three high-quality vehicles for tourist transportation. All our vehicles are Toyota Land Cruisers with closed roofs, capable of accommodating up to seven passengers each.
Additionally, our safari vehicles feature hatched roofs to provide shade against the sun in the African wilderness. They have spacious seating that allows guests to sit comfortably and stretch out their legs. Each guest is guaranteed a window seat for optimal viewing. The vehicles are equipped with fridges, power charge sockets, and VHF radio calls for easy and efficient communication with our base office. Our drivers are highly skilled and each vehicle is custom-designed with an extra-large photographic roof hatch, additional dust proofing, comfortable seats with seat belts and canvas covers. We also provide first aid kits, binoculars, a selection of field guides, and complimentary bottles of mineral water for our guests. To ensure everyone’s satisfaction, our safari vehicles accommodate a maximum of six passengers, guaranteeing a window seat and access to the photographic roof hatch throughout the entire safari. Additionally, all our vehicles are equipped with a long-range radio system connected to our head office in Arusha, and are serviced after every safari.
